Harvard Law School Posts Highest Pass Rate on California’s February 2022 Bar Exam

California reported a 33.9% bar exam pass rate for the February test, lower than the February 2020 pass rate of 37.2%. While the pass rate is lower than the previous year, there were some statistical bright spots for some law schools’ alumni.

According to statistics released by the California Bar, Harvard Law School graduates posted the highest pass rate on California’s February 2022 bar exam, with all 11 first-time test-takers from the school passing the bar exam.

Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and the University of Pacific McGeorge School of Law rounded out the top three campuses, with pass rates of 81% and 71%, respectively, among those sitting for the exam for the first time.

The California Bar said first-time applicants represented 35% of those who completed the exam and had a 53% pass rate overall. The 2,023 repeat test takers accounted for 64.9% of the applicants and had a 24% pass rate.
